Moore and Sizemore Top the Pro Classes at Round 1 of the Mid America Motocross Series at Archveiw MX
The 2016 Mid-America Motocross Series presented by Yamaha Racing and Big St. Charles Motorsports started with an exciting day of racing at Archview MX Park to kick off the season. With many new faces committing to the series this year, the door to this year’s titles are left wide open with a mass of returning riders as championship favorites, but it was two newcomers in the Pro classes who came out on top at the end of the day in Washington Park, Illinois. Drayke Sizemore led every lap start to finish in the 250A motos, but it was Johnny Moore, of Madison, Mississippi stealing away the overall in the 450A with a 1-1 score on the day.  Read more ...

2016 Mid America MX Series News

The 2016 Mid America MX Series has some great venue changes. We will have 4 races at 3 new location’s added to some of our traditional venues for a total of 9 rounds. The mission of the Mid America MX Series has always been to hold a top level MX series in the St Louis area and in 2016 the local tracks and other series in the area have worked very well together to come up with the most impressive series this area has ever seen.

We will start the year off at one of the best tracks in the St Louis area, Archview MX. This will be the first Mid America event where the normal Mid America crew will not be running the event but the Archview crew is well experienced at running events with 300 to 400 entry’s so this should be a nice change of pace for both the riders and normal Mid America crew.

Then we will move on to the first of two rounds we will be holding at the Nationally acclaimed Indian Hills MX located in the Sothern Illinois state fairgrounds in Du Quoin. This is an off year for Indian Hills to be in the rotation for any National Qualifiers so our local riders will be treated to two Mid America events at this location.

Next we will introduce Sweeney’s MX after a upgrade from a practice facility to a full race facility. Matt Sweeney has operated one of the best practice/training sites in the Mid-West for many years and is famous for the deep loam. Matt’s work is well known as the head of the track crew for the Mid America Series with his ability to prep any motocross track to a national standard. We will have two events at Sweeney’s in 2016 and we are looking forward to introducing another great track into the motocross racing community.

We will also hold two rounds at ROMP MX where some great upgrades have been made over the last few years. There are 90 loads of mulch and sawdust on location ready to be added to the track for its 2016 events. The last two races at ROMP had the best track conditions we have ever seen at that location and as they work in more sawdust and mulch the track should get better with each event.

The annual Halloween race at The Track At Holzhauer’s will be a great weekend again in 2016 with the normal buddy races and Yamaha demo rides. The bon fire, hay ride and Halloween contest have become a huge success. The racing is always great with the sand section and track layout giving the riders something they don’t see a lot of in this area.

To finish out the year this year we will go back to Du Quoin to Paradise Moto Park where they are making some great upgrades to the track and parking. PMP’s unique old school design has always been one of the local favorites and this event should keep that tradition alive in 2016.

This will be the first year we have been able to depend on some of the local tracks to hold events without the normal full Mid America crew doing all of the work. But we will continue to hold these locations to the high safety and operational standards that the series has become known for and we are working with the factory’s and sponsors to make this a great year for the rides and family’s that attend our events.

We are looking forward to the 2016 season and hope everyone has a great time at each event they attend.
